Martin Lawrence has been 2nd horn in the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment for over 25 years. He is also a member of the English Concert and plays regularly for many groups including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Academy of Ancient Music, Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique, English Baroque Soloists, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Bach Collegium Stuttgart and Capella Cracoviensis.
He has developed ‘Free Your Playing’, a practice helping musicians with physical, creative or psychological issues, and has recently completed his PhD, entitled ‘Music Performance Anxiety as Hidden Desire and Emerging Self: the Development and Exploration of a Conceptual Lens for Performers and Practitioners’ at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
